Rusty the Golden mix needs our help! We all know that it can sometimes take a village to raise a golden, whether its you letting us know about a pup in need or when we help our partners around the state. Rusty, a beautiful Golden/Australian Shepherd mix is in need of a place to land and our friends at Golden Retriever Rescue of South Florida need our help. Heres what Rusty says: Check out my eyes! They are GORGEOUS! When you look at my face and eyes you can see how smart I am! Anyway, my name is Rusty, and I need a home. Just a little bit about me-I am around 2 1/2 years old and I am neutered, current on my vaccines, and micro chipped. Photos just cant capture how beautiful I am! I am super sweet and friendly; I just love giving face kisses! Adding to the list of my fine attributes are that I get along fine with other dogs and I will be great with kids. But I am very high energy. I would love to have a fenced yard to run in and because I love to swim, it would be great to have a family who does too! I am not a really big guy. Maybe 60 lbs. And my friends who rescued me from the Golden Retriever Rescue of South Florida think I am a Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd combo! Both awesome breeds. But heres the thing. I really need some training. The rescue really wants me to find a great forever home. So, if necessary....they will pay for my training. I have been working with a great trainer who says I am awesome and with some time and consistency I will be the BEST family guy, EVER! Heres what Rustys friends from the rescue have to say about me: Rusty has an INCREDIBLE amount of energy. Right now he is staying at the vet and is going to doggie day care. HE LOVES IT! We think he would love to be in a home with another ACTIVE dog. He loves running in a yard (with another dog is the best.) BUT, he also loves to climb fences. A normal height chain link fence didn’t daunt him at all. He loved getting out and running around the neighborhood…looking for dogs to play with. He never ran away…just wanted company! Cats, however are a different story. His idea of playing with cats….not so good. It will take a special home for Rusty-ACTIVE, LOVING, PATIENT. We are running out of options for this guy.
