Ruth Hamm – I had a terrible headache and drove myself to the hospital – not knowing the problem, just knowing my head felt like it would break open. There, I was told I would have a seven-hour wait before I could see a doctor. My daughter e-mailed people to pray. I was torn, remembering God’s promises, but my mind was screaming death. I had to choose and I did – I chose life. I begged the person at the desk to at least take my blood pressure, which was 229/129. They moved quickly and even asked me if I had a living will. I said, “No, I will be fine.” I spent a week in the hospital with them trying to find out what had caused what turned out to be a brain hemorrhage. I never lost consciousness, had no surgery and never suffered slurred speech. Their final word was, “We don’t know what started it, and we don’t know what stopped it.” I responded, “I don’t know what started it, either. But I know Who stopped it!,” as I pointed heavenward. The doctor’s words: “You’re probably right.” It turned out, I had suffered a tear in the area of the brain stem. Today, I give all glory to God for His healing power and kindness to me.
