Ráth Tó 2-17 Dún Bóinn 2-8 Ratoath booked their semi final place in the Intermediate Hurling championship with a 9 point win over Dunboyne in this entertaining clash played early on Sunday afternoon in kilmessan. The game commenced with both teams grabbing some early scores before Ratoath gradually started to pull away from around the 12th minute on. Points from Padraig OHanrahan,Daragh Kelly,Jack McGowan and Brian Murphy ensured their team took some advantage of the win that was in their favour in the opening half. Dunboyne went in at half time 7 points in arrears (12 to 5) but were still very much in the game despite being outplayed in the opening 30 minutes. The second half began with Ger Clarkes charges carrying on from where they left off in the first half and the game looked to be all but over when a goal from Paddy Coady put his side 11 points ahead. Back though came Dunboyne and they scored 2 goals of their own in a 10 minute spell where they dominated possession. With 12 minutes to go a converted free put the St Peters club men within 4 points of their opponents and an unlikely comeback looked very much on the cards. Alas this was their final score as the Ratoath men finished the game well with a goal from substitute Bryan McMahon sealing the victory. Best for Ratoath were Paddy Dowd,Brian Murphy,Daragh Kelly,Padraig OHanrahan and Bryan McMahon.
