SA Bush Fire Info. -Want to know if your area is at risk? Whats other incidents are happening in your area? If you need to leave? What roads are closed? Go to cfs.sa.gov.au Ring the hotline 1300 362 361 Keen to keep up to date on social media? https://facebook/countryfireservice https://facebook/pages/SAPOL/114947585187756 Please stop resharing unconfirmed news that you have heard from a friend... who heard something from someone else. This Chinese whispers is not helpful and can cause serious undue Stress and worry to many people and potentially put people at risk. People have also chosen to listen to Public GRN scanners. Understand that these scanners pick up multiple conversations through different GRN channels and will trunk them through as soon as the scanner picks them up. That is why some transmissions end abruptly, Make no sense or start half way through. if you do not understand the radio network, call signs or how crews communicate, Dont listen! There have been some community pages created to help assist with animal evacuations etc... Please remember that these pages are set up by members of the public and have no Communication through official channels other than the same ones the rest of us use. Donations - The CFS do not need drinks - And as great as a case of water might be, understand that it would be better donated to salvos, red cross or one of the releif centres. A Volunteer fire fighter will drink (on average) 1 litre ever 30 minutes to one hour. with 400 Fire Fighters that 400lts of water Per hour (not including forward commands, staging area, other services and head office staff. Thats 19200 Litres of water in just 2 days. yes every little bit helps however what the public do not know that there are government arrangements with places like SA water, Coca Cola etc that are already in place before these events happen. Staging areas will be receiving pallets of water and Powerade aswell as hydrating satchels. The SALVOS have the Emergency meals unit (EMU) which is set up to cater for Hundreds of people at a time. If the CFS required food and drink donations, They would of stated so through their social media, Their website and the mainstream Media. The CFS have updated their website with info on how you can help, by signing up to volunteer to help rebuild once the fire is out Or donating money to various organisations.
