SA Water has advised Council that a flush environmental flow event will commence on Monday from the South Para Reservoir. SA Water do not believe that this will cause any concern for council or the town of Gawler, and will be much lower in volume and flow rate than natural runoff events experienced over winter. The purpose of this flow event is to freshen pools, move sediment and provide fish with migration opportunities up and down stream.
