SAKO UP FOR PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Bakary Sako is among the nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for October. Sako featured in four of Wolves’ five fixtures in October, and scored in each of his appearances. A close range finish in the 3-1 defeat to Huddersfield was followed by coolly despatching a low shot following a corner to equalise against Wigan. The Mali international winger then notched from a spectacular free kick against Millwall before a cheeky ‘chipped’ penalty in the home win against Middlesbrough. Sako also provided a string of further opportunities during an impressive individual month. Other candidates for the accolade for October comprise Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio, Millwall goalkeeper David Forde and Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson. The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky BetFootball Trading ManagerPaul Lowery. The winner will be revealed tomorrow morning.
