SAMBOS 925 Vista Avenue, Boise, Idaho Present Use: Presently used as a Chinese restaurant. Size: Medium. This would have been a medium size Sambos (Double window booths. Single wide booths. Counter with Stools) Also has large back dining room. Building Condition: (1-10) 10 - 10 would be considered as good as if new Sambos back in the day. OUTSIDE: Googie: No. This would have been a Contemporary designed Sambos. Original Design: Original constructed design all still intact. Rock Entry Area: Original rock style wall still existing. Sign mountings visable. Windows: Full original window view still present. Palm Trees: No palm trees present. Sign: Original sign post present. Not original sign. INSIDE: Counter: Original counter and stools have been replaced. Booths: Single seat booths are original. Large booths were replaced with new booths. Kitchen: Kitchen still in original location but passover window removed and covered. COMMENTS: This building is still complete and original on the outside and has been maintained to perfect condition. Was totally impressed with the care that this building has received. Best I have seen yet and looks like it was just built. Would not need a lot of work to bring it back to Sambos design on the inside or outside. Small booths are original with original wood slate design still in place around these booths. Also, walls and dividers in back diningroom shows original wood slates still in place. Ceiling has origianl indentation design still present throughout.
