SANIBONANI, MOLWENI, DUMELANG; GOOD DAY OUT THERE: LISTEN - TopicsExpress

SANIBONANI, MOLWENI, DUMELANG; GOOD DAY OUT THERE: LISTEN CAREFULLY TO THE LYRICS OF SONGS THAT YOU HEAR. HOW DO THEY PORTRAY WOMEN? HOW DO THEY PORTRAY MEN? Women are often relegated to objects of desire by men who are depicted as these mindless predators whose only purpose in life are to subject women to their lusts and desires (by force if necessary). HAVE YOU EVER HEARD A SONG WHICH DESCRIBES HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN? Is this where our youth are learning values about relationships, through songs like this? The music videos reinforce this – how many of youth dress like their favourite artist or think that the only way to impress others is to conform to the dress codes & behaviour of these so called icons of pop-culture?. 1 AMAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD, * aall ye lands. 2 bServe the LORD with gladness: COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH SINGING. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: It is he that hath cmade us, * and not we ourselves; We are dhis people, and dthe sheep of his pasture. 4 eEnter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his fcourts with praise: gBe thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For hthe LORD is good; his imercy is everlasting; And his itruth endureth * to all generations. ? Psalm 100:1–5 Let us remember Thursdays in Black. The peace of the Lord be with you… Shalom Bishop Mike (07/08/2014)
