SAPS 2006. The school was blessed and inaugurated by my father the Lt Allen McArthur Flynn in April 2006 and from the very next day, the school continued , but as a n established school . There were about 150 odd children in the school . Mrs Michelle Jones , the appointed Sectional head of the school had very aptly prepared the calendar of events of the school . I remember the first of these events was the Elocution Contest in which , Sr Joan and Father Chinnapan were required to judge the event . I was extremely grateful to the Sacred Heart church and the Sisters belonging to the Loreto Order to encourage me all the way. As far as the academics were concerned, the weekly tests were in vogue and the same was conducted on a monthly basis with a half yearly and the Annual examinations. Report card , teachers record books, class record books were in use in the school with sufficient furniture for at least 200 children. Classes were held from 8.00AM to 1.30 PM each day. I was fortunate to have a set of experienced teachers , some of whom are still with me to-day and have served the school loyally. The summer vacation began about mid May and was schedule to reopen from mid Hune when the Monsoons would be in and the hot weather would be out. Board and Managing Committees were formed and the regular meetings were held . Appointments and other matters regards the school were discussed at these meetings and the school functioned along the same lines as that of any other school. Admissions were coming in each day and the numbers in the school was increasing steadily. All preparations were now being made in putting papers together according to a certain format to apply for the Minority status of the school from New Delhi. It was being mandatory that Anglo-Indian Schools need to have in their possession a Certification from the National Minority cell in Delhi to come under the umbrella of AI Schools. It was Fr Chinnapan who helped me to obtain the said certificate. I will always be thankful to this great soul who guided me all the way and the unstinting support I received from the Sacred Heart Church at Thakurpukur.
