SATURDAY GIG GUIDE Last night turned out to be an ad hoc gig night, as went for a few beers and a catch up with a mate and there was a band on we werent expecting. Anyhow, we had a canny night at The Clef And Cask, as always a friendly atmosphere and the staff are great. Music was provided by Mulholland Drive. Weve got a few things to do this afternoon, so we are putting up an earlier guide of whats on around the region tonight for your entertainment. So without any furhter delay, heres your Saturday Gig Guide so you can plan your night: ASHINGTON 1. Bubbles welcomes Trilogy this evening, who will be entertaining you all with tunes from Led Zepplin, The Police, Neil Young, The Arctic Monkeys, AC/DC, Oasis amongst many others. BISHOP AUCKLAND 1. The Merry Monk brings you a night of hard driven metal and rock with Whipfist playing it hard and fast with covers from the likes of Black Label Society, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth and some of thier own excellent originals chucked in as well. Cracking night in store. BLYTH 1. The Third Beat Drop are the entertainment at The Roxbury Live Music Venue Blyth tonight bringing an evening of ska and reggae covers from the likes of Desmond Dekker, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, The Beat, Max Romeo and others. BYKER 1. The weekly Off the Record is on tonight at The Lord Clyde at Byker, who continue to support local bands by providing a great venue and atmosphere. Tonight they have Candela (currently touring the UK promoting their new EP); Broken Drone (Garage-Psych Punk) & Looking for Colours (playing original music). CONSETT 1. Currently ongoing is Rosies 70th Ride Out at Stephs The club that rocks, an event that is raising funds for a very worthy cause, SOS (Soldiers of the Streets). Three bands Dixon Did It, The Sultans Of Swag and The Distorted. A cracking line up of live music and a good cause, so what you waiting for, go lend your support. DUDLEY 1. Ruby & The Mystery Cats is bringing an evening of rockabilly and Jive to Dudley Social Club. Special band that really are well worth checking out. EASINGTON 1. The Village Inn welcomes The Kets tonight wholl be entertaining you with a blend of indie, rockk and jazz style music. FOREST HALL 1. The Newcastle Blues Club at The Forest Hall Ex-Servicemans Club brings you Kirk Fletcher, ex guitarist of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, with support from The Katie Bradley Band. Some of the best blues around. GATESHEAD 1. A cracking night of punk music at THE THREE TUNS, SHERIFF HILL, GATESHEAD OFFICIAL SITE with Drongos for Europe, Media Whores & Exiles providing a night of high class entertainment. 2. A night of rockabilly at The Bank Bar Bistro tonight with the Troubleshooters. 3. The Schooner brings you the Lounge Lizards. HARTLEPOOL 1. Bar 1908 brings the excellent Shoot the Poet this evening fresh from supporting The Subways. MARSKE 1. The Frigate brings you the entertaining Fizzy Fish this evening, playing rock covers from the likes of REM, Oasis, Pearl Jam, The Cure, The Jam, Blondie and many to get you up dancing and singing your hearts out. NEWCASTLE 1. The Dog & Parrot has a fantastic evening of music lined up tonight with the Pretty Livid Imps, with support from Blackout Hotel and Caesars Horizon. NEWTON AYCLIFFE 1. Turbinia Rock Gigs has a cracking night of rock lined up with Mugshot hitting the stage to bring you music from the likes of The Cult, Bon Jovi, Chilli Peppers, Kings of Leon, Metallica, Muse and many more. NORTH SHIELDS 1. Brian Wilson is bringing his one man entertainment show to The Porthole this evening featuring tunes from The Beatles, Bryan Adams, Free, Sinatra/Robbie Williams and other great songs. 2. The Wooden Doll is being entertained by Berry Burgess this evening with some special guest appearances throughout the night. Great music and a friendly atmosphere, with a wide range of tunes thatll cover everyones tastes. PONTELAND 1. A relaxing evening of brilliant music with Steve Daggett is in store at The Blackbird tonight, playing some of his own original tunes as well as other well known classics. REDCAR 1. The Redcar Citizens Club is playing host to Hitman Blues Band with New York Horns this evening with support from Gary Grainger. A canny night of blues lined up for your entertainment. 2. One of the MUST SEE gigs of today is happening at The Cleveland Redcar where the superb Diablo Northeast will be performing a mix of modern indie tunes from the likes of The Killers, Stereophonics and other floor fillers, and their own tunes that have all received critical acclaim, including; Runaway (see our YouTube Video Channel), Spit Upon The Ashes, Sigerson and if you are lucky Only Fools Reign. SCARBOROUGH 1. Ordinary Affair are playing way down south tonight at The Newcastle Packet, so let your friends and family know. Great night of punk tunes from the likes of The Jam, The Kinks, Undertones blended with indie tracks and rock covers. SEAHAM 1. A night of classic rock covers at The Mallard tonight with Tempest tonight, featuring tunes from Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Stevie Nicks, Skunk Anansie, Heart, as well as some more modern tracks. SKELTON 1. Indie and rock covers at The New Hollybush with Jagged. playing covers from the likes of U2, Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, The Stereophonics, ZZ Top and many more. Tonights gig is in aid of MacMillan Cancer support so its £5 OTD, but a great band and a worthy cause, so well worth it. SOUTH SHIELDS 1. The Voyager welcomes The Casinos this evening with great music lined up from the likes of Killers, Pretenders,, Beautiful South, Lady Gaga ,The Who, Beatles and many more. STOCKTON 1. Taking you back to that simpler, happier era that we all look back on with fondness (yes the 80s....... even Churchill likes it) at Stockton Buffs tonight is Planet Earth - Ultimate Live 80s Tribute. All the best tunes from the era, including the likes of Wham, Culture Club, Don Henley, Glen Frey, A-Ha, Duran Duran and many more. 2. A night of Canadian croonery tonight at Blytheholme Social Club tonight with P.a. Wood bringing the very best of Bryan Adams for your entertainment. 3. Driven Serious are rocking out at Bands on The Bank tonight bringing their unique blend of fantastic punk folk music. A cracking band that will entertain you all night. SUNDERLAND 1. A belter gig at The Queen Vic Hotel this evening as the Ballbreakers bring some of the best guitar driven rock tunes going, featuring tracks from Gary Moore, Ted Nugent, Dr. Feelgood, ZZ Top and many more. Cracking night of music and enterainment. 2. The Corner Flag are hosting Northern Jam today from 7pm featuring 6 fantastic bands from across the North including; Fighting Caravans, Prysm, Kidd, Ilser, Avenues & The Cities We Light. A fantastic blend of genres and entrainment lined up. 3. The Ropeworks is hosting The Kieran Johnson Band tonight for a night of blues rock music thatll keep you entertained all night from a really excellent guitarist. WINLATON 1. The Riff Hunters are rocking out at the Rose & Crown this evening playing music from the likes of ACDC, ZZ Top, Tom Petty, Stranglers, George Thorogood, Rolling Stones and many more. WHITLEY BAY 1. The Townhouse Whitley Bay welcomes a new act to the venue Thorns, who are a cracking band playing covers from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Brian Adams, Joan Jet, Toto, Journey, Bon Jovi and many more.
