SATURDAY, November 29 Philippians 2:5. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus. This is such a beautiful passage of scripture. There’s a poetic rhythm to the way the text builds. What kind of mind should we have as followers of Jesus? We should have the same that was in Christ Jesus himself. And just what kind of mind was that? It was a mind, a life, that emptied itself, going to the deepest, darkest parts of what it means to be human—even in death. But it was that humility, that emptying, that actually prepared the way for God to lift Christ up.
