SAVED IN THE NICK OF TIME! WESTERN CAPE (from St Helena Bay to Yzerfontein foster care till gets his strength up for written forever home applications to then be processed). BOETA (my vet Anel Coetzee - best vet on this planet, seriously - and I have named him as such - Yzerfontein Veterinary Clinic is just THE best vet on this planet and has a strong and longstanding animal welfare and heavy duty emergency vet background). He is in foster with my other 2 male Boxers and my female Boxer. We are having SUCH fun nursing him to health. 15 kilos - half what his body weight should be. This dog was saved in the nick of time from a Free to good home Gumtree ad spotted last night and rapid engagement with Saldanha Animal Care that had the owner sign a surrender form then they bakkie angel on wheels drove him down the R27 and I rushed Boeta and the Daschie of same household to my vets. Fortunately not needed on a drip overnight. Have engaged with Dachshund Rescue South Africa and the Daschie is at my vets this weekend till they can fetch him or they are welcome to fetch the Dachshund sooner than then. The Daschie needs a leg amputated. These 2 dogs came from appalling circumstances. The Daschie is a fattie though!! Not so for Boeta. Darling boy. You have struck a goldmine of love at my home and we love you to bits already! Love - Kerneelz, Sophie, Oscar (my 3 Boxers) and Your Doting Foster Mommy Greta XX Boeta will need 3 teeth out once gets weight on and can undergo anaesthetic. He has 15kg of food and was today kennel cough vaccinated, had all vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, blood smear (ticks and fleas DELUXE and is SERIOUSLY anaemic - now I know what is meant by pale gums - hoo boy), bedsores deluxe, 15kg (half his usual weight), 3 vrot teeth. Watch this space, boy - will take pix of you sauntering down Yzerfontein Beach before long!! The Worsie in the picture is from the same home but is if anything a tad OVERweight, while Boeta weighs half what he should - merely 15kg. From the moment I set eyes on Boeta, he had only tail wags and licks for me - bless his dear heart!
