SB-191 - NH Energy Strategy has been signed by the Governor! Governor Hassan’s Statement on Signing SB 191 CONCORD – Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after signing into law yesterday Senate Bill 191, a measure establishing a state energy strategy. “To create jobs, reduce energy costs, protect our natural resources, and strengthen our clean energy sector, we must pursue modern and long-term energy strategies that are in the best interests of New Hampshire and its people. “Establishing a state energy council to develop a ten-year energy strategy for the state is a critical part of those efforts. The state energy council created by SB 191 will examine and address a variety of issues, including: the supply and demand for energy needs, access to natural gas, New Hampshire’s role in the regional electricity market, and the role of efficiency and other demand resources in our energy mix. “SB 191 provides resources to help the state begin important efforts to plan for an innovative energy economy for years to come, and I encourage citizens from around the state to participate in helping to develop a state energy strategy. “I thank the sponsors of the bill and the many advocates who participated in the legislative process for their efforts on issues that are so important to our citizens, our environment and our future energy costs, reliability and diversity.”
