SBU Video: The Ukrainian contract officer Redvan Menboriiev, who after the annexation of Crimea had to stay on the peninsula to serve in the Russian Army, decided to come back on the mainland and take part in combat operations against terrorists on the side of Ukrainian forces in the ATO area. According to him, he left the duty area in protest against Russian aggression towards the neighboring state. The Crimean told that commanders abased and intimidated Ukrainians, who had enlisted in the Russian Armed Forces. Former Ukrainian servicemen are prohibited to leave occupied territory during three years, their salary is much lower than Russian one. Pro-Ukrainian military were threatened to leave the Army or to be sent to Russian outstations for further service. Menboriiev confirmed that Russian commanders daily spread anti-Ukrainian propaganda, events in Ukraine were slanted, the honor and dignity of the Ukrainian people were debased. “I strongly oppose the policy of Russia’s leadership against Ukraine.
