**SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINES TODAY!** Patriots Pen Essay Writing Contest Patriot’s Pen is open to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students enrolled in public, private or parochial schools in the U.S. The theme for 2013-2014 essay is:What Patriotism Means to Me. The first place award is currently $5,000, plus an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. for the winner and a parent or guardian. Ron Brown Scholar Program The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Each year, a minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. *Today is deadline to be considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program AND forwarded to a select and limited number of additional scholarship providers.
