SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY: Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death----even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place, and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:4-11 Christ emptied Himself by taking on the form of a servant, a mere man. In doing this, He did not empty Himself of any part of His essence as God. Instead He gave up His privileges as God and took upon Himself existence as a man. While remaining completely God, He became completely human. Jesus became a servant, without losing His deity or the attributes of deity. He become a human being seeking to fulfill the will of another. He humbled himself to become one of us that we may be brought to God through His sacrifice on the cross to pay for our sins. He was an example to us. When God looks at us as Christians, he sees His Son, not our sins. Praise be to God!!!
