SDRF - State Disaster Response Force have so far been set up by 15 of 28 states so far. However, since communities are affected, they are also the first responders to disasters in whatever capacity they have. For this reason, there has been a lot of focus put on Community preparedness through awareness and capacity building. Besides this, Civil Defense, Home Guards and traind volunteers from Nation Service Scheme, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and National Cadet Corps are the first trained responders functioning under the District Administration.
