SEAL OF HONESTY???: This is not to disparage or dampen my brilliant student, Mon Abreas idea for coming out with a seal of honesty project that ostensibly rewards those that are supposedly acting in honesty and integrity in their personal and business dealings. It is more of a LAMENT and an IRONY that for so fundamental a virtue that each one of us should possess and carry out from the very basics of life, we propose to reward it when exhibited. Robert Fulghum in his celebrated best-seller ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN says simply, play fair, do not hit people, put things back where you found them, do not take things that are not yours, etc. are so fundamental for a human person it is no brainer. The irony or misfortune is that this virtue is becoming extinct so that ideas like this seal are proposed for reviving, for nurturing, or for making people and organizations become aware of it again, and for what, to aim for it? How pitiable we are that we want to put a seal on people and organizations who, by their very nature, should be honest and have integrity in the first place. Sorry folks for this lament, it is just probably the idealist in me. So the seal would be like an ISO certificate which has become a dime a dozen. What gives?
