SEEK DAILY (NBC) Monday, September 30 Hebrews 11: 8-16 THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place...went, even though he did not know where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8, NIV Abraham demonstrated rare faith in human history. He trusted God when God called him to leave his home town to an unknown destination. He also trusted God’s promise to give him a child even in his old age. At the time of the visit of the angels, Sarah was about 89 years old and Abraham 99. This should have made it very difficult for him to have faith in God’s promise; yet, this was one of the various points of his life when Abraham showed faith in God. Faith is trusting God to do what is seemingly impossible to humans. When God sends us on assignments or gives us instructions to carry out what we feel are not humanly reasonable, we should learn to trust Him and rely on Him as the “all-knowing God.” Are you going through trying times or receiving direction from God to step out into the unknown? Have faith in God, step out in faith and you will have testimonies. Prayer Point: Pray for the kind of faith to trust God in spite of your situation.
