SEEK GOD AS A FAMILY Seek the Lord faithfully as a family. He shall bless you and protect you. Dearly beloved, God loves and protects His beloved children. There is a poor family which I happen to know very well. As a family, they would get up early in the morning at 4.30 a.m and praise the Lord by singing loudly. They were living only in a shed. One noon, around 12 p.m., there was a loud noise from their house and everyone ran out to see what it was. That shed had collapsed completely. Everyone panicked that the family living there might have been killed. But the Lord had preserved every one of them without any harm. He also provided them sufficient money to renovate the house and blessed them abundantly. The Bible mentions about Cornelius, a Roman army officer who pleased God through his devout life. Hence he received an important blessing from God. He was eagerly waiting to hear the Word of God through Peter, the servant of God, and had called together his relatives and close friends (Acts 10:24). The Lord says, “…I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground…” (Isaiah 44:3). The Psalmist says, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God” (Psalm 42:1). Accordingly, while Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit descended upon all those who heard the Word (Acts 10:44). Each one of them joyfully praised the Lord, spoke in tongues and glorified Him. Dearly beloved, you should also seek the Lord faithfully as a family just like Cornelius. Then the Holy Spirit will certainly descend upon your family, fill all of you with His presence and bless you. He will also keep you safe in His arms. The Lord says, ’Because he loves Me,’ says the Lord, ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name’” (Psalm 91:14). According to the promise, when you seek God jointly as a family and trust in His name, He will deliver you from all your problems and preserve you under His mighty wings.
