SEMESTER 1 INTERNSHIP - VICTORIA POLICE (PROSECUTIONS DIVISION) 6 Places only! Applications are now open to participate in a ten week Student Internship Program with the Victoria Police, Prosecutions Division during Semester 1 2015. Successful applicants will gain valuable work experience within the Victoria Police Legal Services Department and Prosecutions Division. The ten week program will consist of two weeks placement at a variety of specialist areas including; Melbourne Prosecutions Unit, Research and Training Unit, Civil Advocacy Unit and Police Coronial Support Unit. Eligibility: - VU Law student in second year onwards, or graduate entry student in any year of study. - Completion of Australian Legal System in Context and Legal Research Methods (or equivalents). - Must commit two days a week from 9 March 2015 to 15 May 2015 (there will be no break over Easter). - If selected, must complete National Police Record, Name and Fingerprint check. You must include a cover letter outlining why you should be considered for this role and also attach your current CV and Academic Record. Applications close 30 January 2015. - If short-listed, attend the Victoria Police Student Internship Program Briefing: Monday 16 February 2015, 5:00pm, Prosecutors Training Room, Police Prosecutions Headquarters. Please note, students who cannot attend the Briefing cannot be considered in this round. Enrol in LLW3001 Law in Practice and use this placement for this unit of study. Students who meet all of the eligibility criteria and enrol in LLW3001 will be given preference.
