SENATOR EMMANUELPAULKER: HAS HE REALLY FAIRED SO BADLY? - Time for the truth to be unravelled Its really appalling the amount of criticisms trailing the CONSOLIDATION campaign of Hon. Senator Paulker Emmanuel in his bid to contest a third term in the Senate. The nay-sayers have constantly harped on three major issues without buttressing their arguments with facts and figures and its just right to put things straight as such arguments are only enough to raise the ear of a dog but not that of a cat. I wish to make this a three part series inorder to clarify, inform and sensitize members of the central senatorial district and indeed Bayelsans on the realities on ground. To highlight on most of what the shenanigans have always said in their argument about Hon. Senator Paulker’s representation, let me remind Bayelsans that Senator Paulker has not been dormant or mute on the floor of the hallowed chamber. When those with the penchant for criticizing politicians without facts and figures start reeling out these words, let them be reminded that at the height of the Niger Delta agitation when a motion was moved in the house about proscribing MEND and declaring an all out war on the body, it was the erudite Hon. Senator Pauker Emmanuel who stood up and presented one of the most logical, moving and intelligent speech that won the hearts of the entire house against the flury of the antagonist who were bent to flush out the lives and drill both the blood and oil of the Niger Delta area by force. Senator Paulker by that moving speech placed himself as the saviour of the souls of his people. I shall request for that moving and eloquent speech and make available here later. Bayelsans need also to be reminded that Senator Paulkr has sponsored and chaired one of the most important bill on the floor of the house. The Petroleum Industry Bill is a baby project of Senator Paulker specially designed to salvage the entire Niger Delta oil areas from the jaws of excruciating poverty and and revert the debilitating excesses distrusts currently plaguing the relationship between the Federal Government, the oil producing companies and the oil producing areas. That the PIB is yet to pass a third reading despite the effort of the erudite and intelligent politician after four years in gestation is not enough reason to chastise is third term bid. We need to rally around him and give him our support. Very recently when the crucial debate on the Univerity a Polytechnic degree discripancies was been debted, it was Senator Paulker who stood up and ske convincingly nd intelligently before the issue was finaly resolved. Senator Paulker inspite of his love and strong support base to President GEJ is too intelligent and calculated to be seen acting as one of those tribalised senators in the house whose penchant for politics is to sing their tribal war songs. This alone has endeared him to almost all other senators from other parts of the country. His calm mien is another attribute lacking in most other politicians who on daily basis are busy gallivanting and perambulating for publicity and ‘notice-me’- pople speaks for Paulker and he doesn’t speak for himself – a meeting with him will convince you. The world is a web of profoundly interwined histories and events, so if the people of Otukpo in Benue state can re-nominate the Senate President Hon. David Mark for a record fifth time, then I humbly submit that giving the profound performance of the Senator Paulker Emmanuel and his overwhelming love for his people, let us all endose him (Senator Paulker Emmanuel) for a third term. My precept is a man who has done so much for his people and shown so much of those innate attributes lacking in many others rightly deserves any numbr of chances as he may which to have – in America, one of the world’s best democracies, there are senators who had represented more than ten times and lasted over forty years in the senate, American democray thrives not because hungry people without any inkling of the law are voted in to represent his people, it thrives because people with experience and love fo his people are allowed to remain there and represent them continuously. Representing Bayelsa state at this time of our country’s political historical upheaval and security challenges requires calm, intelligence, experience and maturity – those are the acumens you just can’t take away from Hon. Sentor Paulker Emmanuel. Please be objective in your contribution on this thread and don’t insult anyone commenting here In my next enlightenement engagement here, I shall be delving into the issue of manpower development (or what Bayelsans refer to as empowerment) vis-a-vis Senator Paulker Emmanuel.
