Americans have documented this revolt with the name Ebo (the phonetic pronunciation of Igbo). It was often said that Angola prison was named after the Angola Plantation which was named so because of their slaves being largely from the Angola region of Africa. Why would Ebola be named after a people/region? The same reason Angola was named after a people or region. People often wonder why African History is left out of many text. Too many lines are drawn in plain sight. Secrets are never hidden. You just do not put all of the pieces in the same place at the same time and do not explain how it works together.
