SENIOR CAT NEEDS FUREVER HOME!!!! PLEASE SHARE! A home for 18y old Grandma - uPDATE 3/10/14: SHE IS STILL HOPING TO FIND A HOME!!! [Grandma is currently at The Goathouse Refuge in Pittsboro, NC; We are still looking for a suitable home for her. If you can help, please fill out an adoption application: goathouserefuge.org/adopt-a-cat/] Grandma is an 18 year old vocal, loving lady who came to us from an eviction case. She and 30+ other kitties were thrown out on the street, in the middle of some of the coldest days of our winter, near a busy highway that ended up killing some of her kitty-friends. Grandma was only supposed to stay with us for a week and then go an actual home where she could live out her golden days in peace, but that never happened, and she is now living with us in the shy cat room where things are a little less hectic and where we are better able to monitor her health. We cage her in the evening to make sure she eats (she gets extra fancy food plus vitamin supplements to keep her strong) and that she has a comfy warm spot to sleep, but its no substitute for a real home of course! Grandma is spayed, utd on shots, and appears to have no major health issues (her eyes need cleaning and artificial tears, but thats it). Please consider adopting sweet Grandma! Wed love to see her in a real home for the time that she has left with us. Shes a survivor, so she might well have a lot of years left in her.
