SENT UNDER THE DIRECTION OF CHARLIE LILLI, DEPUTY COMMANDER, DLA AVIATION For Wednesday, Jan. 14, liberal leave and unscheduled telework is in effect for Defense Supply Center Richmond due to current weather forecasts predicting freezing rain and sleet with accumulations of one to two tenths inch of ice for the metro Richmond area. DLA Installation Support will monitor weather conditions and coordinate with the DLA Aviation deputy commander to determine if a delayed opening or closure of the installation is warranted at any time. In the event of a delayed opening, the East Gate on Jefferson Davis Highway will not open until 30 minutes prior to the scheduled opening. Employees on a regularly occurring telework agreement will continue their normal operating telework day regardless of the status of the installation, or make arrangements with supervisors for usage of leave. Employee safety is our first concern during all inclement weather events. The DLA home page of our public website (aviation.dla.mil) displays alerts in the event of a changed operational status, and updates are available via the installations Information/Hazardous Weather Hotline at 804-279-3599 or 1-888-325-6733 (1-888-3CLOSED). In addition, television and radio stations in the local area who broadcast our installations closures and delays include: WTVR TV-6 WRIC TV-8 WWBT TV-12 FM 95.3 FM 99.3/105.7 FM 94.5 FM 96.5 FM 92.1 FM 102.1 FM 101.1 FM 98.1 FM 106.5 FM 103.7 FM 104.7 AM 1140 Employees are encouraged to download and print the installations Emergency Notification Guide, which details other ways to remain alert to potential changes to the installations operational status, and answers frequently asked questions about operations during inclement weather and other emergencies. Reference guides are available for download on the DLA Aviation public website aviation.dla.mil.
