SEPTEMBER 27, 2013: OCT 14TH- LAST DAY TO REQUEST CHIPPING & DEFENSIBLE SPACE EVALUATIONS The last day to request chipping and defensible space requests for the 2013 season is October 14, 2013. To make your request please call 775-831-0351, ext. 8118 or make a request on-line at nltfpd.net In order to service all remaining requests for Defensible Space Evaluations and Chipping in a timely manner and prior to potential inclement weather approaching, the last day to request chipping and defensible space requests is Monday, October 14th. This will allow the Fire District time to complete the last requests for the 2013 season. Please call 775/831-0351, ext. 8118 and leave your name, service requested, address and phone number. Or, visit our website at nltfpd.net to make a request on-line. For Chipping requests, please remember that the pile needs to be curbside (limbs no larger than 6 inches in diameter, no stumps, roots, garbage, nails or finished lumber and pile must not exceed 10’x10’x10’). To date, the Fire District has completed approximately 180 Defensible Space requests and 160 Chipping requests for the 2013 season. The Fire District would like to thank everyone that has expressed an interest in learning about what they can do to make their homes more defendable from a wildland fire and spending the necessary time to do the work around their homes. The district anticipates beginning the prescribed burn program early next week, depending on proper weather conditions. ####
