SERIOUSLY INJURED, I COULDN’T STAND UP WITHOUT FALLING OVER… BUT WITH NOBODY WHO CARED, I WAS DESTINED TO DIE ALONE… My name is Kellan and I am a 10 year old boy from the streets of Phuket. I have never had an owner to love me or a place to call home. I have spent my whole life just trying to survive from day to day. After I got attacked by another dog, I was left with a very nasty wound under my tail. With no human to care for me, my wound got worse every day. It became seriously infected and was infested with maggots. All the skin tissue around the wound died. I was so scared and in a lot of pain the day a truck stopped beside me and a man got out. He scooped me up in his arms and told me he would help me. His name is Khun Sanae and he is an Animal Rescue Officer with Soi Dog. I was not in a good way when I arrived at the shelter. As well as the wound that was hurting me so much, I was covered in fleas and ticks. The vets said I had something called a heart murmur. I was not eating and was so weak I couldn’t stand without falling over. Since that day, I have turned a corner. Dr. Eugene and Dr. Eed are both looking after me and cleaning and treating my wound every day. They give me medication for the infection and the pain and they hope I will make a full recovery. The vets tell me I am only here because of the Emergency Response Team. This special group of Soi Dog supporters live all over the world but care very much about the dogs and cats of Thailand. They send monthly donations so that we can be helped. There are many more animals like me still out there and they need help. YOU can be the one who saves them today, simply by signing up to join the Emergency Response Team. These suffering animals have nobody else to turn to but you. Please don’t let them down. All you have to do is click on my photo to get started. Thank you.
