SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT ®: Lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea is the Counsel for former president JJ Rawlings regarding a case the latter has with one professor in a publication of a book. Even though in terms of political philosophical orientation, both the client and the counsel have diametrically opposing views. In contemporary Ghanaian political system, a high profile political person takes his / her counsel based on the political orientation of the lawyer and not necessarily his competence. What a pity! However, the former president has changed this obnoxious status quo that has surgecally deepened the political divisions this country has witnessed over the past decades . Like Abdul Malik Kweku Baako always say, I dont hate Rawlings, but I detest his style of politics On this occasion I will like to acknowledge JJ for doing something right for the first time in his political life time based on the observation I have had so far . To the Counsel, i say ayekoo for accepting to offer your services to the former president despite diversity in political opinions.
