SHE BLAMED POVERTY TO HAVE RUINED HER FROM HAVING HER DREAM MARRIAGE SERIES 52! Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda: Pretoria, South Africa. OUR SISTER IS RESOLVED TO FOLLOW THE LORD AND HIS WAYS Recap from series 51 Our sister wanted to know what are some of the things she was going to remove from her standard. TODAY’S EPISODE The sister from the church told our sister that the pressure of age was working on her and she was thinking twice about her standard. *She had resolved never to look at outward appearance but concentrate on the inner man. 1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. *She had also decided never to consider what the man possess as life does not consist in what one possess. Lu 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a mans life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. *She told our sister that it took long for God to answer her because she had created an idol in her heart. Ezekiel 14:4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols; *She had come to understand that no one has the right to despise any one’s appearance as we are all made in the image of God. It grieves God when his creatures are made a laughing stock because of their appearance. Acts 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Our sister was so encouraged with the resolution that the sister from the church made in doing away with her standards and embracing God’s standard. She requested that they pray together so that she will also reach the level of maturity that the sister from the church had reached. That night our sister logged into the Facebook and found some invitations. She mistakenly accepted them not knowing that one of them was the youth pastor. He used a different name and because the profile pic was the Bible, our sister did not suspect anything. The youth pastor started talking about spiritual things and our sister was responding well. Our sister insisted that the person must show his face or else she will unfriend him. The youth pastor was at a cross road as what to do. He thought of using a wrong profile pic but then said suppose they are to meet what would happen? It was at this point that he revealed himself and told that it was him. He told our sister that he has not been sleeping as he had been thinking about her. He begged that our sister should not block him as he will needed to receive encouragement. Our sister was not aware that this was a trap the Devil was setting for her.. Our sister still told the youth pastor that it was impossible for the two to become husband and wife as he was married already. The youth pastor in trying to keep the relationship open agreed and begged that she must allow him to chat with her. Our sister did not dispute and told him that she would see but he must remember that she cannot go back to her old ways. The following morning, our sister decided to respond to the former school mate who had sent a lengthy message proposing her. She had decided to phone him and not go to his house as it was risky. Our sister went to use the public phone and unfortunately the former school mate knew the code and asked our sister where she was so that he could come and pick her? She refused to say where she was and told him that she wanted to talk to him. The former school mate insisted that it will be better they meet and talk. Our sister cut the phone as she knew that it is risky to visit a many that is hungry no matter how spiritual he may be. She had been told that she must keep a distance between herself and men. She was not ready to go back to sin. She went back home to prepare for her trip back to her village as she only had one week before the opening of the school. That evening the pastor called for her and she went with the sister from the church. She was given money for registration and groceries. She thanked the pastor for the help. The pastor encouraged her to find a gospel church to attend when she gets back to school since that church did not have a branch in that part of the country. The pastor prayed for her and told her that during holidays, she must feel free to visit. They went back home singing and praising God. The following day our sister embarked on a journey that will eventually take her back to the university as a Christian. THIS ENDS PART ONE OF OUR STORY! PART TWO IS AN EXCITING SERIES DEALING WITH HOW THE UNIVERSITY CAN RE-SHARP CHRISTIAN CONVICTION. DO NOT MISS. ADD MORE PEOPLE.
