*** SHERIFFS OFFICE RECOGNIZED FOR TRAFFIC SAFETY *** The National Law Enforcement Challenge which is managed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police recognizes and awards excellence in law enforcement traffic safety programs throughout the country. The sheriffs office received the 1st Place Award in the Sheriffs Office Category of 1-50 Sworn Deputies as well as the National Traffic Safety Unit Award sponsored by the National Sheriffs Association and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In addition, the sheriffs office was awarded a $ 5,000 Traffic Safety Scholarship from Northwestern Universitys Center for Public Safety. The scholarship will assist in the educational advancement of deputies interested in enhancing traffic safety. I am extremely proud of the efforts our deputies put forth to promote traffic safety.
