SHOUT OUT TO FUTO! During a recent Offshore Technology Conference held in Houston, I discovered that apart from Nigerians who were sponsored by NNPC, more that 50% of Nigerians who participated were alumni of Federal University of Technology Owerri and they represented themselves and company excellently. This shows that FUTO is doing something right and thanks to the solid foundation laid by their founding Vice Chancellor, the great Professor Amagh Nduka. During my JAMBing year FUTO was relatively new and located at the old site inside Owerri city. Though it was my second choice but I ended up at Unical. Over the years FUTO has proved to be the best in Engineering and Technology in the country as evidenced by the performance of FUTO graduates during recruitment and when employed and the rate at which International and Local Oil and Gas Industry employers seek to hire FUTO graduates. I would recommend to FUTO academic authorities to introduces more Business Communication courses for all undergraduate students. Also, for those seeking to do their Masters Degree and intend to work in the O&G sector to target FUTO.
