SHRI AMARNATHJI YATRA - 2013 Shrine Board publicises Yatra related information through Doordarshan and AIR SRINAGAR, July 15 - A documentary film along with short duration video messages prepared by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, to educate the Yatris about registration procedure, Health Advisory and Do’s and Don’ts to be followed by the Yatris is being telecast by Doordarshan through its regional and National channels. Shri Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, informed that besides this documentary, the Board had also prepared video spots and audio spots for dissemination of Yatra related information. The video spots are being telecast through DD News, DD1, DD National and DD Bharti, while audio spots are being broadcast through FM (Rainbow) seven times a day; through FM Gold six times a day, through Rajdhani four times a day, and through Delhi-D two times a day. The CEO further informed that the Documentary film, video spots and audio spots have been uploaded on Shrine Board’s website – shriamarnathjishrine, to enable intending Yatris being adequately informed about the Yatra. He informed that till date 60,065 persons had viewed the uploaded Documentary Film, video spots and audio spots. The CEO has once again urged the intending pilgrims to strictly adhere to the Do’s and Don’ts and the Health Advisory issued by the Shrine Board as they have to undertake a very arduous trek to the high mountains under adverse weather conditions. Cautioning the Yatris against undertaking this arduous Yatra without securing a Yatra Permit, Shri Choudhary stressed that, for ensuring effective management of the Yatra along the difficult tracks, only those Yatris who are in possession of a Yatra Permit which is valid for a specific date and route will be allowed to proceed beyond the Entry Gates at Domel and Chandanwari. The CEO yet again appealed to all intending Yatris to ensure that they complete all the necessary registration formalities and obtain a valid Yatra Permit in their own interest before embarking on the pilgrimage to avoid inconvenience on arrival in the State as under no circumstances whatsoever, Yatris who do not possess a valid Yatra Permit for that day and route will not be allowed to proceed beyond Baltal and Nunwan Base Camps. It may be recalled that Shrine Board has fixed a ceiling of 7500 Yatris per day per route for this year’s Yatra besides 1000-1500 pilgrims who travel by the Helicopter services upto Panjtarni, depending upon weather conditions. To facilitate registration of Yatris who have arrived in the State without registration, Divisional Administrations of Jammu and Kashmir regions, in collaboration with the Shrine Board, J&K Bank and State Tourism Department have made arrangements for the current registration of pilgrims at Vaishnavi Dham, Sarswati Dham, Jammu Haat and Ram Mandir in Jammu and in Srinagar at Pantha Chowk and TRC Nowgam. CEO again stressed that children below the age of 13 years and all elderly persons above the age of 75 years will not be allowed to undertake Yatra.
