SIMON SCOCERY DID YOU KNOW??? JOHN TODAY BIBLE MANNA 9 Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great, 10 and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, “This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.” 11 They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery. 12 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw. When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money 19 and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” 20 Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! 21 You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. 22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.” 24 Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me so that nothing you have said may happen to me.” 25 After they had further proclaimed the word of the Lord and testified about Jesus, Peter and John returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many Samaritan villages. ACTS:8:9-25. AND IN ACTS:13:4-12. The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper. 6 They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, 7 who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith. 9 Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, 10 “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? 11 Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind for a time, not even able to see the light of the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand. 12 When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord. GOD HAS SAID..... “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). IN VERSE 10 PEOPLE BELIEVED THAT SIMON IS THE GREAT POWER OF GOD. BUT IN THE NEXT VERSE WE SEE WHEN PHILLIP ENTERED THE CITY AND PREACHED THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD MANY PEOPLE BELIEVED IN THE WORD OF GOD AND WERE BAPTIZED. Simon was among those who believed and was also baptized. He “was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done” through the power of God. HERE THE SIMON FOR HIS FAME AND PRIDE WANT THE HOLY SPIRIT TO BE ON HIM SO THAT HE MAY GAIN MORE MONEY BY DOING MIRACLES BUT THAT WAS SIN.THE WORD OF GOD CANT BE ACHIEVED BY MONEY OR ANY OTHER MEANS. NO MAN CAN ACHIEVE A GOOD HEALTH,BLESSINGS BY SORCERY OR ANY MAGIC. WORD HAS THE POWER. NO MAN ON THE EARTH CAN STOP THE GOSPEL THE WITNESS OF JESUS CHIRST. WORD GIVES FAITH, AND THE FAITH COMES BY HEARING THE WORD OF GOD. BY BELIEVING THE WORD WHICH DOES MIRACLE IN THE NAME OF JESUS. WE MUST TRUST THE WORD OF GOD. DONT DEPEND ON ANYBODY OF THIS WORLD, WE MUST DEPEND ON THE WORD OF GOD. THE WORD OF GOD STANDS FOREVER. THE WORD OF GOD IS ACTIVE AND WORKING. IT CAN DO MIRACLE SO ALWAYS KEEP THE WORD OF GOD IN YOUR HEART AND HAVE FAITH IN JESUS.READ HIS WORDS DAILY.READ BIBLE DAILY. ----------SOME BIBLE FACTS------- Gamaliel was Pauls teacher (Acts 22:3).
