SLEEP Sleep soothes our mind and protects it from anxiety and depression. We are exposed to so much of information these days that retaining it has become a major task. Sleep consolidates our memory and help immensely to preserve the long-term storage of it. Sleep deprivation effects short-term memory like remembering names, telephone numbers while dialling and many events and procedures learned recently. Lack of sleep also leads to attention deficit and negatively impacts decision making, verbal fluency, thinking, complex tasking and judgement. When sleep deprivation becomes chronic , it starts taking toll on organs and may lead to dementia, diabetes, heart and vascular disorders. For a vibrant life, sleep should be given top priority. Sleep when you feel so, learn to sleep deep , stop planning when you go to bed, sleep is the food for your brain.
