SM Prime Holdings, Inc, and the Global Education and Training Institute (GETI) of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction recently held a 2-day training on The Business Case for Disaster Risk Reduction at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City last 16-17 June 2014. The forum was conducted in order for business leaders from both the government and private sectors to come up with a more responsive and efficient disaster preparedness mechanisms to better manage their operations during times of emergencies. Mr Hans Sy, who sits at the UNISDR-Private Sector Advisory Group, has called for public-private partnerships to improve disaster preparedness in the midst of the worsening environmental conditions brought about by climate change.
