SMASH BOOKS – Great, creative way for your children to keep - TopicsExpress

SMASH BOOKS – Great, creative way for your children to keep their “memories” in one special place. This is a project that they can do themselves as they get older, and would be easy for Mom (or anyone) to help them with when they are younger. Store photos, along with their own journaling, in a “book” that would take up very little space. “Parting is such sweet sorrow,” but children who hang on to “stuff” until they are drowning in it in their bedrooms (or its spilling into other parts of the house), would have a way to keep the memory, without turning their room/house into the Winchester Mystery Mansion (oh, or stuff can get lost, stepped on, or God-forbid - thrown out!) Actually, they could have different SMASH books for different things: My favorite Lego creations; My nature collection; My trips by train, plane, and automobile; My favorite books; etc. I just love this idea. Trust me Mom – a shelf with seven, eight, or ten SMASH books is a WHOLE lot better than a room/house full of stuff that mean “the world” to Johnny or Jenny (that includes ALL projects – school or otherwise!). The Smash Book documents their stuff and ideas, and a simple ceremony can be held to say “good bye” to all that STUFF. I wish I’d had something like this when our children were growing up! Brilliant! [The one shown, is one Mom’s way of journaling her Essential Oils.] What do you think, Jamie Kristen Clelland Liles, Fabiola Clelland, Peggy Casey Clelland, Steffani Lynne Miller Clelland? Oh, and BTW, you dont have to buy ready-made Smash Books. Let the kids make those too (or with your help).
