SO fifteen years ago today I drove to work for the last time. As I got to the out skits of Orangeville Ont I lost complete control of my body, my vision went I had no depth perception , could not control my arms and my legs , I started to sweat and I had this repeating undulating feeling as if I were riding swells on the ocean. I drove my car about five miles an hour, with a huge line up of cars behind me (strangely no one honked their horns or at least I didnt hear it ) I made it to one of my schools safely, where one of my coworkers just happened to be there that day. She rushed me into the emergency and they checked me for a stoke or an aneurysm neither of which I had and then they promptly removed my drivers license from me. Then after two years of tests and examinations and drug treatments (to make a long story longer) the final diagnosis was periodic leg movement syndrome and hyper somnolence , which means I wake up 32 times an hour (never get into deep sleep) and during the day I am never fully awake , Im a ZOMBIE lol as long as parts of my body dont fall off Im okay. It is very strange how your life can change from one second to the next and never be the same again. It has made me appreciate living in the moment and never taking anything for granted
