SOCIETY LIAISON UNIT – The National Inspector accompanied the Inspector on a follow-up of a complaint regarding pigs, goats and pigeons. The farm animals are free roaming and are housed in large camp at night. Pigeons were housed in dive cages and were not observed during the last inspection. Hygiene was the main issue with old faecal build-up and even old carcasses found. No perches and dirty water was evident. A warning was issued with specific time frames. Living conditions must improve drastically or legal action will be the next step. The owner is now also aware of the legal implications if he does not properly care for his animals.
