Since it apparently uses triple junction PV cells, which are so expensive theyre normally reserved for space applications, this uses much less of them and thus makes cheap use of these most efficient PV cells. The downside is that concentrated solar systems have been designed to use molten salt as the heat exchange fluid flowing through the boiler, and molten salt stores so much heat per unit volume that it can drive turbines (via a heat exchange with and intermediate fluid: water) all night; molten salt acts as a heat battery salt to significantly smooth out the solar electricity supply over day & night.
