SOME MALIGNANT STAKEHOLDERS WITH INTENT TO UNDO NATIONAL UNION OF RIVERS STATE STUDENTS, NURSS AND NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS, NANS; A PSEUDO-CAMPAIGN STRATEGY AHEAD OF 2015. One have to come out plainly at this moment to bring to our (Rivers State Students in Higher Institutions) attention to the ugly scenario of some selfish former students union and youth council leaders who have now become agents of politicians in our fragile state. These set of people have been used to destabilize the once glorious union, named National Union of Rivers State Students, NURSS and the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS. One must totally condemn a situation whereby an electoral committee of this union will be constituted from the desk of a government official. More deplorable is the tendency by a former NURSS Leader of ages to accept to serve on board the committee alongside a former chairman of the state youth council. These ones must in all ramifications be rejected by NURSS and NANS. One remembers vividly, even as a former NURSS Leader and former Spokesman to NANS, Umuahia 2005 Convention these unions normally carry out all their functions within their own ranks and files without any undue interference. WE CALL ON ALL LEADERS OF THE STATE AND THE ZONE SO CONCERNED, ESPECIALLY RSUST, UNIPORT, UOE, RIVPOLY, RIV-COLLEGE OF NURSING, RIVCAS, ETC TO COME UP UNIFIED AND RESIST IN TERMS THE INTENT OF THESE MALIGNANT STAKEHOLDERS TO MAKE NIGERIA STUDENTS TOOLS FOR ELECTORAL AMBITIONS OF OUR DESTINY THIEVES.
