Proceeds from this event benefit the Los Angeles Police Memorial Fund, which provides grants for widows and orphans of officers killed in the line of duty. Since its inception, the Memorial Foundation has provided more than $8 million in financial grants. Its resources have been seriously depleted due to the unusually high number of Los Angeles Police officers who have recently lost their lives.
