SONIA GANDHI: President: Indian National Congress under tight scanner of High Court of Delhi. Why the political parties are not happy to be transparent. Delhi High Court on a writ petition by RTI activist Shri R.K. Jain has directed the Central Information Commission to decide his complaint against Smt. Sonia Gandhi for non-compliance of Full Bench decision of CIC wherein 6 National Political Parties-*Indian National Congress, BJP, BSP, NCP, CPI and CPM *were declared to be public authorities under RTI Act and consequently, Presidents / General Secretaries of these political parties including Indian National Congress were directed to appoint CPIOs and the Appellate Authority under RTI Act within a period of 6 weeks. Shri J.K. Mittal, Counsel for the Petitioner arguing the matter stated that despite the Full Bench decision of CIC, the President of the Indian National Congress has not appointed the CPIO / Appellate Authority under the RTI Act and the Indian National Congress has also refused to accept the RTI application of the petitioner filed in Feb. 2014. Shri Mittal also stated that his client has also filed complaint against 5 other political parties as they have also neither replied to his RTI Application nor appointed the CPIO/First Appellate Authority till now though a period of more than a year has already passed while they were given six weeks in June 2013 to comply with the with the Full Bench order. Sh.Mittal alleged that the CIC is not taking, cognizance of the said complaint filed by his client nor the applications moved by him are being taken up for consideration by CIC . He further submitted that CIC is not only discriminating his client but even not deciding the complaints against the National Political Parties though pending for more than a year.
