SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT FOR 2015 SUMMER CAMP!!!!!! We cannot say enough about how amazing The City of Summerside and the Credit Union Place has been, and continues to be! Just released today by Nancy MacPhee at the Journal Pioneer is the announcement of a unique Summer Camp opportunity for youth aged 12 to 14! We are calling it the Young Leaders Summer Camp. Here the youth will be able to experience all the activities that the Credit Union Place has to offer in the morning and then will teach introductory sport, art, craft, skills to our younger age groups in the afternoon. The cost is $50 per week, but heres the catch...all that money is going back to the youth for teaching and mentoring our younger age groups in the afternoon. AND, at the end of the summer each youth will receive stipends that they can use for back to school shopping!!! The intent is to give our communitys youth a job experience (make and provide a resume, be interviewed, be trained, etc.) so that when the time comes for them to get their first job, they will have the confidence and experience to do so! We want to develop life skills, focusing on decision making abilities, self-confidence, problem solve, and have them develop amazing communication skills that they can use in their futures!!! All of this is taking place at the Credit Union Place in partnership with the City of Summerside. This is a new initiative to help our youth develop the skills and confidence they need to go out and find new opportunities and make a difference in our community!
