SPIDER CRAWLS WATCH VIDEO THEN READ! Benefits * Total Body Workout that can be used as part of a dynamic warm-up or conditioning program. It incorporates all of the following muscles: * Back Muscles- rhomboids, trapezius, latissimus dorsi, erector spinae * strengthens all three parts of the shoulders (front, medial, rear) as well as rotator cuffs * Chest- engages many of the same muscles used during a pushup, including triceps, because you have to stay so close to the ground * Glutes- Gluteus maximus/adductors used to propell body forward and back; abductors/glute medius, minumus and quadriceps to move across the floor * All Core Muscles- rectus abdominus, obliques, transverse abdominus (used to maintain posture) are constantly firing Add the Thunder Bands (as I am doing in this exercise) and now we are building speed, power,strength, cardiovascular endurance and Holy Smokes! The heart rate goes through the roof!. BUT dont get too excited or defeated its a killer exercise so you have to build up to the bands. Start with simple, slow crawls to get the mechanics and then add speed and then add bands. Enjoy!
