SPIRITUAL DAILY DIGEST TUESDAY 26TH AUGUST 2014 THE GREATEST (I CORINTHIANS 13:10-13) “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three: but the greatest of these is love” V.13 Something that amazes about love is the power that resides in it. Do you know that God is love; He gave us Jesus Christ, His Son as a ransom for our sins and Christ died for us while we are yet sinners? As a Christian, Christ demands that we have faith even if it will be as little as a mustard seed and also we must continue to hope in His greatness but love overshadows all. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us Love requires you to love those who love you and love those who hate you some more. Anyone who lives in love will never live in fear. Love conquers all evil. David was able to overcome Saul because of love and the fear of God in him, He had the opportunity to kill Saul but rather chose not to touch him and let God administer judgment. Today’s text emphasizes that numerous gift is nothing when there is no love, hence we must show love to everyone and forgive easily. Who knows, God may not have provided you with those things you need because you have failed to show love and forgive those that have hurt you so much. Remember in the Lord’s Prayer we always say, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Show some love today and you will be richly blessed. Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, let your spirit of love dominate my life henceforth that I may continue to show love to all and sundry. Amen.
