************SPOILERS************* DO NOT READ IF HAVENT WATCHED EPISODE 2 OF GOTHAM Gotham Awesome show already, was being stubborn sceptical with the pilots airing, (see what i did) simply because it was another story about the death of the Waynes, & have had my fair share of that rehashed story with my time on this planet, thank you very much indeed. Plus the trailers ruined the story but thankfully not the atmosphere. Episode 2 opens with a new villain to the series The Doll Maker For us nerds it made me Eeeeek when i heard his name from his henchmen/women. A very mysterious character, ive never seen him in the comics, only read of him. Most notably when he convinced the Joker to cut off his own face for grander schemes to come. Regardé ~ Death of the family. Jada Pinkett Smith is my only problem with the show at the mo. She camps it up too much, a villain from Adam Wests Batman series & doesnt seem to take the role seriously. The rise of the Penguin. Surprised me the direction there going with his character, knowing hes as dark in the comics...but figured this for a PG to 12a type of show. An episode just about him would make me tune in. His first kidnap victim to ridicule & failure, will nothing go in this mans favour. The kid who plays him is a future star for sure, brilliant at nervous gullible to psycho in a flash. A No country for old men vibe to his character & placement. Selina Cat Kyle speaks. I was hoping shed sound & talk like Mr T but i understand thats not in everyones taste. A direct linear character to the whole series & has already let the cat out the bag about every little feed. I didnt like how she gouged the eyes out of that guy. Shes a villainess but not crazy. Dolls Henchmen. At first your thinking Cheese as their camping there way throughout the episode, but then you realise its done beautifully subtle & just becomes their quirk. That woman scared the shit out of me, she could take Mike Tyson with a look. Jim & politics. Bullocks character has changed in ethics since the pilot, now hes 90% slimeball & loves salt on your wounds. Gordans secret plan of getting rid of the corrupt officers within his precinct will be a no show. Theyve all been dating lady GOTHAM too long to play the rules. Great series. ;)
