SPORTS UPDATE WITH EMMAH ATAI: Thierry Henry has hailed Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery as footballs perfect role models - and labelled Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as freaks. The Arsenal legend will line up against Muller and Ribery when an MLS All-Star side takes on Bayern Munich on Wednesday. And Henry believes youngsters should look to emulate them rather than the worlds two best players. Barcelona and Spain midfielder Xavi Hernandez has announced his retirement from international football. The 34-year-old won the World Cup and two European Championships with his country. He was capped 133 times, more than any other Spanish outfield player, and scored 13 goals. West Bromwich Albion have signed defenders Jason Davidson and Cristian Gamboa for undisclosed fees. Australia left-back Davidson, 23, moves to The Hawthorns from Dutch side Heracles Almelo on a two-year deal. Rosenborg defender Gamboa, 24, has signed a three-year contract after his work permit was approved. Norwich City have signed free-agent midfielder Gary ONeil on a two-year deal following his release by Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season. ONeil, 31, played 33 games for Rangers last term, scoring once, including the play-off final victory against Derby.
