SQUIRRELS and CROWS ....... and PEANUTS !!! Fact ..... squirrels like peanuts. Fact ..... crows like ....... damned near anything !!! My neighbor to the east boils peanuts for resale several days each week and he tosses the culls out into his backyard where the natives fight for em. In a ground battle one-on-one I give the edge to the squirrel every time but an airborne attack from the sky gives the edge to the crows. However, neither critter really wants to risk injury for peanuts. Soooooooo (and here comes the smarts) the crows now sit on my fence and watch the squirrels as they gather the peanuts and scurry away to bury them in a concealed area, and then return to snatch another peanut to secret away somewhere else. But No !!!! The crows, having seen the initial burial, fly over to first peanut and quickly peck it up and fly away with their spoils. This is repeated over and over and over again, and the squirrels just think Life Be GOOD cause theyre set for the winter. The antics of these animals give me many smiles, and I know .......... Life Be GOOD !! ........
