SREE YENDALA MALLIJAJINA SWAMY @ Mallikharjuna Swamy, Ravivalasa, Tekkali Mandal, Sreekakulam District. As per the epic, the devine doctor of Kapi Sena, Sree SUSHENA, requested permission to him to stay here for doing penance to SHIVA, while they returning to Ayodhya after Lanka episode. Sree Rama accepted, after some time, Sree Rama asked Hanuma to go n verify about the details of Sushena. Hanuma came here n foubd that Sushena Skeleton under a deer skeleton. He poured Jasmine (Malle) flowers on the skeleton, and informed same to Sree Rama. SreeRama immediately rushed to that place n he tried to remove the deer skeleton with his hands, Surprisingly, the same was started growing like a linga. Rama realised that Sushena was immersed in Shiva, n named the linga as MALLIKAJINA (Mallika (Jasmine)+Jina (Deer Skin) Afterwards, Pandava Madhyama Arjuna did penance about Shiva here, n Shiva oblized to keep Arjuna name also to him, till then called as MALLIKARJUNA SWAMY. Some time later, a king, who ruled this place was nailed on Linga, from that day onwards growing was stopped. Till now people believed that, if any one take holy bayh in pushkarini n perform pooja to Shiva, they definitely get rid of all Skin diseases.
