SRINAGAR: September 22: Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday said the invocation of PSA and conviction of pro-freedom leaders and youth could not prevent us from pursuing the struggle for freedom from India. Umer Abdullah led administration has in practice and virtually imposed an unannounced ban on our organization. Syed Ali Geelani while commenting over the court verdict, in which Nasir Abdullah (Palhallan) was acquitted from all allegations and murder case, said that It is an important event and added that the authorities had designed a plot to ban the political activities of Tehreek e Hurriyat. The civil authorities had plotted a game plan to involve the said leaders in murder case, however, police failed to prove it and in court findings the case was proved to be unfounded and thus acquitted from all allegations. Police had claimed and framed the charge sheet against the due saying that Nasir Abdullah and Muzafar Ahmad had plotted a conspiracy and assisted in the killing of Sarpanch.Syed Ali Geelani reaffirmed his faith and warned police and said that the covert tactics of police won’t deter them from perusing their goal and added” we will strive until the forced occupation is there’’. No power on earth can deter us from the righteous path that we have so for opted, said Syed Ali Geelani. Sunday in a press release, Syed Ali Geelani said that Tehsil President Nasir Abdullah was arrested by police on August 11, 2012 and next day DIG police North Kashmir in a press conference had allegedly involved him in killing of Sarpanch and had claimed that police has a sufficient proof against the accused. The allegations were serious enough and the motive was to ban the political activities of Tehreek –e- Hurriyat said Syed Ali Geelani. We had made it clear and refuted and challenged the charges in a press conference said Syed Ali Geelani and added that we told the police that they have framed a fabricated case against the leaders in a crime which they never committed and this is quite contradictory. But despite they booked him under fake cases in the Section 302, 120B and 2/27 .During court proceedings the court observed the case unfounded, acquitted him of all charges and orders for his honorable releases were announced . It is a victory for those who follow the right path and defeat for those who follow false assumption. It has put a big question for Umer Abdullah for his heinous and terror policy he follows against the innocents, said Syed Ali Geelani and added that they have declared a war against Tehreek e Hurriyat and are implicating our activists and leaders in false caese.Umer Abdullah led administration on democracy and tolerance are a hoax and incumbent regime is on the path of war against Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, said Syed Ali Geelani and added Umer Abdullah led administration has in practice virtually imposed an unannounced ban on our organization, however, are exploring the ways and means to justify their action, but they will never succeed in their plan, said Syed Ali Geelani. Chairman Hurriyat said that if the rule of law and justice would have existed we could have asked them that who would compensate the period Nasir Abdullah and Muzafar Ahmad Lone served in jail and who will compensate and what kind of punishment the perpetrators deserve, asked Syed Ali Geelani. He said, it was not the first and last case when innocent people under the political retribution were convicted on false grounds but it is very common to see the people languishing jail for no fault and he termed it sheer lawlessness and terror policy unleashed by state authorities. Even today, hundreds of citizens in jails under false and baseless cases are detained and added that no one consider their pitiable plight not their cases are listed for court hearings .In most cases, the accused are not presented in court for hearing and thus prolong their illegal detention. Syed Ali Geelani urged for immediate release of Masarat Alam Butt, Mir Hafiz Ullah, Mohammad Maqbool (Chadoora), Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Nisar Hussain Rather and Ashfaq Ahmed( Pantha Chowk). Prisoners are being subjected political retribution in jails said Syed Ali Geelani and while referring to the grim situation in Jammu Jail, Syed Ali Geelani said that jail mates are subjected to ill-treatment at the hands of jail authorities and the food items provided them are of sub-standard quality and no medical facilities are being provided to the ailing detenues. Syed Ali Geelani has appealed to Amnesty International and urged to take notice of the plight of Kashmiri detenues and ensure the immediate release of prisoners.
